Rudbeckia fulgida 'American Gold Rush' is resistant to Septoria leaf spot. Thanks to the thinner, hairy leaves, this Rudbeckia does not suffer from mildew, even in wet damp conditions. The golden-yellow flowers with black centres appear from July to September. The flowers retain their colour until the first frost. Bees, butterflies and birds are attracted to 'American Gold Rush'. The plant is protected by plant breeders’ rights, and was bred by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens from Hebron (USA). Future Plants from Lissebroek (NL) submitted the plant, and is also placing it on the market.
