Description:

Hibiscus 'Akata88' (Raijin) combines the excellent flowering qualities of the Hibiscus variety moscheutos with a natural low growth that is very compact (50cm). This makes the plant ideal for growing in small pots. The flowers are a beautiful glowing red, abundant, smaller than the regular variety and in proportion to the size of the plant (approximately 15 cm wide). Flowering starts in July and continues throughout summer. Pruning can encourage a second flowering. The foliage is bright green and serrated. Raijin was bred by Y. Kurabayashi from Akatsuka (Japan) and is protected under plant breeding legislation. SAPHO from La Menitre (France) submitted Raijin and also markets it.
