Flip thinking, thinking outside the box: these are the key concepts when it comes to new ideas. “The aim of this competition is to get businesses thinking by means of innovative ideas”, says fair manager Jos van Lint.
The idea must have some connection with the horticulture chain, either now or in the future. Entries can be submitted in four categories: Indoor (retail/presentations/communication/shopping), Outdoor (landscaping/gardening), Technology (automation/computerisation/logistics) and Product (novelties/cultivation techniques/propagation). The ideas will be pitched to the public and the trade jury on a specially designed innovation square. A prototype and/or an appealing presentation can be used in the pitch.
The ideas will be judged by the trade jury, taking several criteria into account. The votes of the public and trade jury will determine which entry wins the title of “Best Idea at Plantarium 2016”. For the Best Idea submitted by students, a cash prize of €1000 is available. Trade colleagues will receive a PR package of the same value.
